plastic pollution is nothing but a mirror of our inner landscape. it is surface noise that stems from an inner noise that needs to be heard, acknowledged and made peace with.
it is in the oceans and on beaches that plastic pollution becomes apparent, but it does not start there.
does it come from the rivers? you might ask. not really. it doesn’t start in the rivers either. not in households. not in shops. not even in factories.
plastic in all these places is a symptom and physical manifestation of a phenomenon that runs much deeper.
pollution starts from within the human mind. it begins as boredom, laziness or convenience.
it might start as greed. or as apathy or disconnect. these are the actual culprits, the actual pollutants!
which means if we want to get to the root of the problem, the clean-up needs to happen in our heads and hearts.
then, the outer world will fall into place, spontaneously, creatively, and maybe even playfully.
the outer landscape is the inner landscape. there is no divide.
you are the mirror and the reflection.
